More about me

Meditation

What’s the ONE thing that has helped me stay focused and more productive?

Meditation

After years of on-and-off-again attempts, I finally created a meditation habit after reading Stress Less, Accomplish More by Emily Fletcher.

Maintaining a daily meditation habit — especially in times of high stress — has kept me focused on setting the right intentions for the day. I can:

This is SO POWERFUL for productivity.

We’re constantly inundated with notifications and attention-seekers. It’s crucial, now more than ever, to cultivate the practice of focus. It’s fine (and natural!) to shift your attention, but you need to be able to refocus quickly.

Oh, and you’ll feel better and sleep better in the process. No downsides!

Start small and try just one minute of breathing with your eyes closed. Do that for as long as you need. Then try two minutes, five minutes, and so on and so forth.

I’ve meditated every day for the past three years. I spend the first 30 minutes of every day with a 30-minute meditation. I can’t imagine starting my day without it. The calmer I am going into my day, the more focus I find within my work (and life).
